DISSECT is organised through a Management Committee leadership team and five specialist Working Groups. The Action has 100 individual members originating from 38 countries.
Leadership
The Action Chair and core officers guide strategy, grants, communication and delivery across the network.
Network delivery
Each Working Group is led by a leader and co-leader who coordinate research, training and collaboration activities.
Working Group 1
Evaluate key disparities in cancer surgery training across high- and low-resource settings and develop an evidence-based roadmap to close training gaps.
Working Group 2
Strengthen research capacity through methodological, analytical and leadership skills, patient-centred research, international collaboration and mentorship.
Working Group 3
Improve MDT learning by analysing differences in structure and access and supporting virtual MDTs, fellowships and cross-country exchange.
Working Group 4
Deliver a sustainable mentorship framework for technical skills, clinical decisions, leadership, communication and research careers.
Working Group 5
Advance cancer surgery training with artificial intelligence, digital technologies, practical workshops and remote telementoring.
